Vertogen Ltd, a pioneer in advanced vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) technology, is proud to announce a major milestone in renewable energy integration through a strategic technical Collaboration with Sunsynk Ltd, a global leader in inverter and battery solutions.
Hybrid Wind-Solar System with Sunsynk Collaboration Support
With full hardware and technical backing from Sunsynk, Vertogen is developing a first-of-its-kind hybrid energy system that integrates wind and solar power directly into a single hybrid inverter with large-scale battery storage.
Unlike conventional hybrid inverters, this system directly integrates wind turbines alongside solar panels an industry first, enabling efficient, flexible, and reliable energy supply for both off-grid and on-grid applications.
Key features include
Direct Wind Integration: Allows real-time wind power control, instant response via an intuitive LCD panel interface, no computer required. Multi-Output Flexibility: Supports auxiliary outputs for generator control, DC/AC coupling for retrofits, and directs excess power to water heating, heating, grid etc, all within the inverter at no extra cost.
Enhanced Safety:
Power curve adjustments and dump load control minimize overspeed risks, ensuring safe turbine operation and unnecessary mechanical stress.
Seamless Battery Operation: Instantaneous battery charging and automated A/C load support, with no grid synchronization delays.
Wireless Installation: A long-range wireless CT clamp enables flexible inverter placement up to 100 meters from the main consumer unit, ideal for challenging installation environments and where cabling is not feasible.
Initial testing has delivered outstanding results, with further performance data to be published following the next windy period.
Real-time Monitoring
The Sunsynk Connect App lets you monitor multiple stats such as energy generation, battery status, grid, and load statistics. Change Settings Remotely – You can control all settings on the inverter from your mobile phone or PC without having to visit your site.
Innovative Hinged Tower Design
Vertogen is also introducing a hydraulically operated, hinged tower system for its VAWT units, designed by our own team. This new tower allows for rapid, safe erection and lowering of the turbine within minutes—eliminating the need for large cranes for installations and not required for maintenance which greatly reduces costs and maintenance time.
Looking Ahead
Vertogen is in discussions to join a major UK-led renewable infrastructure project in The Sultanate of Oman, focused on integrating multiple renewable technologies for domestic and commercial use, including recycling, heating/cooling, water desalination, and new energy production methods.
